Our Self-Paced Online Certificate III in Individual Support allows you to complete the majority of your theory and assessments online, while still receiving trainer support, practical training and real workplace experience.

Study from home, work through your learning at your own pace and complete the practical components of your qualification with the Intercept Care Crew before moving into work placement.

It's ideal for people balancing work, family or other commitments who still want the support of a real training team behind them.

Is Self-Paced Online Training Right for You?

This option may suit you if you:

• Prefer completing theory online
• Want more control over when you study
• Can't commit to attending class four days every week
• Are comfortable working independently
• Already work within the care industry
• Want to begin a career in aged care or disability support

Important: This Course Is Not 100% Online

Because you're training to work directly with people, some skills need to be demonstrated in person.

Your theory can be completed online, but you'll also need to attend required practical training and complete a minimum of 120 hours of workplace placement.

This gives you flexibility without missing the hands-on skills required to work confidently in the industry.

How the Course Works

1. Enrol

Before getting started, you'll complete your enrolment requirements, including a Language, Literacy and Numeracy assessment and any required commencement assessments.

Our team will guide you through the process.

2. Complete Your Theory Online

You'll receive access to our online learning system where you can work through your course materials and theory assessments at your own pace.

You'll have access to:

• Online learning materials
• Theory assessments
• Virtual training and learning support
• Online trainer support
• Assessor drop-in sessions
• Ongoing guidance from your course coordinator

You're studying independently, but you're not studying alone.

Our team is available to help you stay on track throughout your course.

3. Attend Practical Training

Once you've progressed through the required online components, you'll attend practical training with Intercept.

This allows you to practise and demonstrate important hands-on care skills before entering the workplace.

Practical training is an essential part of your qualification and helps make sure you feel prepared before placement.

4. Complete Your Work Placement

You'll complete a minimum of 120 hours of practical work placement in a suitable workplace.

Intercept Training College can assist with arranging an appropriate placement.

Already Working in Aged Care or Disability Support?

Your current workplace may be able to be used for your placement hours if it meets the qualification and assessment requirements.

Speak with our team when enrolling and we'll help determine whether your workplace is suitable.

Study Around Your Schedule

One of the biggest advantages of our self-paced option is flexibility.

Instead of attending class four days every week, you can organise your online study around your existing commitments.

Study in the morning, in the evening, on your days off or when it works best for you.

You'll have up to 12 months to complete your qualification while continuing to receive support from the Intercept Care Crew.

After successfully completing your CHC33021 Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing & Disability), you may pursue roles including:

• Disability Support Worker
• Aged Care Worker
• Personal Care Assistant
• Home Care Assistant
• Community Care Worker
• Support Worker

Entry Requirements

To enrol, students must:

• Be at least 17 years of age
• Complete a Language, Literacy and Numeracy assessment
• Provide or apply for a suitable National Police Check
• Provide or apply for an NDIS Worker Check
• Provide photo identification
• Have or obtain a Unique Student Identifier (USI)
• Have access to a suitable computer or device
• Have reliable internet access
• Be comfortable completing learning and assessments online

Additional Requirements

Students are required to obtain a current "Flu Vaccination" prior to their Clinical Work Placement

All Students will need to be TRIPLE Vaccinated for COVID prior to Clinical Work Placement

All Students will be required to wear a uniform while attending Clinical Placement. This will include a white collared shirt, black pants and black fully enclosed lace up shoes 

Work Placement Requirements

Before attending placement, students must meet the requirements of the relevant host workplace

Students are also required to wear an appropriate placement uniform, including:

• White collared shirt
• Black pants
• Black fully enclosed lace-up shoes

Our team will help you understand what is required before your placement begins.

Course Fees and NSW Government Funding

Smart & Skilled Funding

CHC33021 Certificate III in Individual Support is approved for NSW Smart & Skilled funding.

Eligible NSW students may be able to access government subsidised training.

Fee-for-Service

For students who are not eligible for Smart & Skilled funding:

Course Fee: $4,999

A $500 non-refundable deposit is payable at the time of booking to secure your enrolment.

Online learning shouldn't mean being left to figure everything out yourself.

As part of the Intercept Care Crew, you'll have access to your trainer/assessor and course coordinator throughout your qualification.

We'll help you understand what needs to be completed, prepare for your practical workshop and guide you toward placement when you're ready.
