Our Face-to-Face Certificate III in Individual Support is designed for people who want structure, hands-on support and regular classroom training while completing their qualification.
You’ll attend training with our experienced Intercept Care Crew trainers, build practical skills in the classroom, complete your assessments and then put those skills into practice during your work placement.
If you prefer learning with a trainer in the room, having a set weekly routine and moving through the course alongside other students, this option could be the right fit for you.

How the Course Works
Your training is completed through a combination of:
1. Classroom Training
Attend our training centre Monday to Thursday from 9:00am to 3:00pm for a minimum of 11 weeks.
During this time, you’ll work through your course theory, and assessments with support from your trainer.
2. Practical Training
Care work is hands-on, so practical training is an important part of your course.
You’ll develop skills in areas including manual handling, person-centred support, communication, independence and wellbeing, infection control and supporting people with different care needs.
3. Work Placement
Once you are ready, you’ll complete a minimum of 120 hours of practical work placement in a suitable work placement.
Intercept Training College will assist in arranging a suitable placement so you can apply what you’ve learned in a real workplace.
Placement is generally completed over a minimum of four days per week for approximately four weeks, depending on the facility and placement arrangements.

Where Can This Qualification Take Me?
After successfully completing your CHC33021 Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing & Disability), you may pursue roles including:
- Disability Support Worker

Entry Requirements
To enrol, students must:
- Be at least 17 years of age
- Complete a Language, Literacy and Numeracy assessment
- Provide or apply for a suitable National Police Check
- Provide or apply for an NDIS Worker Check
- Provide photo identification
- Have or obtain a Unique Student Identifier (USI)
Additional Requirements
Students are required to obtain a current "Flu Vaccination" prior to their Clinical Work Placement
All Students will need to be TRIPLE Vaccinated for COVID prior to Clinical Work Placement
All Students will be required to wear a uniform while attending Clinical Placement. This will include a white collared shirt, black pants and black fully enclosed lace up shoes
Work Placement Requirements
Before attending placement, students must meet the requirements of the relevant host workplace
Students are also required to wear an appropriate placement uniform, including:
- White collared shirt
- Black pants
- Black fully enclosed lace-up shoes

Course Fees and NSW Government Funding
Smart & Skilled Funding
CHC33021 Certificate III in Individual Support is approved for NSW Smart & Skilled funding.
Eligible NSW students may be able to access government subsidised training.

Intercept Training College offers varying Delivery methods to allow you to work around your own schedule.
Option 1: Face to Face Fast Track course:
This program is delivered in a face-to-face setting with classroom training, practical workshops, self-paced independent learning, and Clinical Work Placement.
Students are required to attend the classroom 4 days per week (Monday to Thursday, 9:00am-3:00pm) for a minimum of 11 weeks.
Included in this time, you will participate in formal learning, training and assessment including theory knowledge assessments and practical workshop sessions.
Delivery also requires a minimum of 120 hours of Practical Work placement in a suitable facility secured by Intercept Training College.
Clinical Work Placement will be as a minimum, 4 days per week for 4 weeks to meet your 120 hours. You will be required to start each day between 6:00am and 7:00am (as per the facilities requirements).

Option 2: Self-Paced Blended delivery
Complete the majority of your training online, with practical workshops before commencing your work placement.
You’ll complete your theory and assessments through our Online Learning System, with access to:
- All learning materials
- Virtual lectures and training sessions
- Support from your assessor through online drop-in sessions
- Ongoing guidance throughout your course from your course coordinator and assessor.
You’ll have access to support when you need it, helping you stay on track and confident throughout your training.
Practical Work Placement
You’ll also complete a minimum of 120 hours of practical work placement in a suitable facility arranged by Intercept Training College.
