You will undertake 4 units of competency in total and the onsite practical training sessions to complete the Traffic Controller & Implement Traffic Control Plan courses. Upon successful completion, you will be awarded your Statements of Completion (SOC) of Training, permitting you to commence work in the industry. The SOC's are only valid for 90 days. Once you have been issued your SOC's, you are eligible to work during its period of validity.
Traffic Controller - To complete your training and obtain your RMS Traffic Controller Card, you will be required to undertake an Assessment at a "Live Project" organised in the Central Coast area. This takes place after your training to obtain the relevant Evidence/Assessments required to allow for submission to the RMS for your Traffic Controller.
Implement Traffic Control Plans - To complete your training and obtain your RMS Implement Traffic Control Plans Card, you will be required to undertake an Assessment at a "Live Project"* . This Assessment must be completed at your current workplace (price on application) or if you don't have access to traffic control duties at a Live Project organised in the Central Coast area.
You will need to organise this Assessment within 60 days of the issue of your SOC to allow time for submission to the RMS for your Traffic Controller & Implement Traffic Control Plan Card issue.
Students must have current SOC's to undertake their Live Assessment. You can obtain an extension SOC's from the Intercept Training Office if required.

RMS requires direct observation in the workplace by an Approved RMS Assessor as an assessment requirement for both Traffic Controller and Implement Traffic Control Plans.

Traffic Controller Course Requirements
- WHS Construction Induction Certificate
(White Card or equivalent from other states)
- Driver’s license (minimum Green P or equivalent) Preferred
- Closed shoes are also required for this practical class day.
